Tracey Clarke
Associate Director for Academic and Digital Strategies, the University of Sheffield


Tracey has responsibility for the University Library's content procurement and collections including development and analysis of both the digital library and print collections. This sits alongside the development of a comprehensive content strategy forming part of the Library's new strategic plan. Tracey's portfolio includes academic engagement across the subject spectrum, support for researchers, research outputs, open access publishing, repositories infrastructure and library technology. She is part of the Digital Preservation Coalition Board, the ArXiv Members Advisory Board and has been actively involved with the White Rose Libraries consortium for a number of years contributing to several strategic themes including repository development, collaborative collection management and most recently the founding of the White Rose University Press


 

Kathryn Johnson
Library Services Consultant, OCLC


A librarian with over 25 years’ experience across all sectors (HE, Public sector and special libraries), including Cranfield University, the National Library of Belize, and the British Council. Kathryn has focused on roles in technical services, systems and e-services, at library level and above for the wider organisation. She joined OCLC in 2016, after project managing the selection and implementation of WMS for the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, so appreciates the product from both the customer and supplier perspective.


 

Axel Kaschte
Product Strategy Director, OCLC EMEA


Axel oversees the OCLC product management of legacy library management systems and EMEA-related product management tasks, to enable the transition of the library community to next-generation library services within the web paradigm. From 2009 to 2013, he joined Ex Libris as Strategy Director Europe where he was deeply involved in defining and presenting the new strategy of unified library automation and cloud solutions.

 

Rick Lugg
Executive Director, Sustainable Collection Services


Rick has worked with academic libraries since 1983. As a consultant and vendor, he has written approval plans, streamlined workflows, evaluated collections, and designed library-friendly products and services. He holds an MLS from Simmons College. In 2007, Rick saw a growing need to evaluate monographs collections, using data to inform retention, storage, and withdrawal decisions, for both individual libraries and shared print projects. He and his partners founded Sustainable Collection Services in 2011 to build a decision-support system for managing monographs. Building on a successful data partnership, SCS was acquired by OCLC in 2015. In his current role as Executive Director of SCS/OCLC, Rick speaks and writes frequently on deselection and shared print.

 

Andrew K. Pace
Executive Director, WorldShare Community Development, OCLC


Andrew leads new efforts to scale and accelerate library learning, research and innovation by building more effective OCLC advisory groups, facilitating deeper library community engagement, and managing the OCLC Community Center. Previously he was Executive Director, Management Services where he directed projects that move library management services to the cloud to gain library efficiencies. Prior to joining OCLC, Andrew was Head of Information Technology at North Carolina State University Libraries, where he spent nine years participating in several digital library projects. Andrew is a Past President of the Library Information Technology Association (LITA), a division of ALA, and serves as a Councillor-at-Large on ALA Council. He is also serving on the ALA Executive Board for 2016-2019.

 

Fiona Parsons
Director of Academic Support, University of Wolverhampton


Fiona Parsons has held a variety of posts in Education: Secondary School Teacher Children's Librarian Lecturer, Subject Librarian, Assistant Director of IS and Director. She joined the University of Wolverhampton as Director of Learning and Information Services in January 2007 after seven years as Assistant Director of Information Services at the University of Birmingham. She was appointed Director of Academic Support in October 2013. Fiona has worked as part of the EMEA Regional Council for three years and has spent 2015 to 2016 as the EMEA Regional Council Chair.

 

Julie Seuront
Member Advocate, OCLC EMEA


Julie is the Member Advocate for OCLC in EMEA since May 2014. Her focus lies in ensuring that OCLC member libraries understand the advantages of belonging to the cooperative. She is interested in connecting with librarians across the region and involving them in membership activities. Julie has a background in International Law; she previously worked in building a community of innovators in the Justice and Human Rights sector.

 

David Whitehair
Director, Metadata Services, OCLC


David Whitehair and his group manage OCLC's cataloguing and metadata services including OCLC WorldShare Metadata, Connexion, WorldCat Cataloging Partners, Contract Services, Dewey Services, and more. David has been with OCLC for over 25 years. His library career began when he was a freshman at The Ohio State University where he worked in the acquisitions department of the library. He received a BS in education from The Ohio State University and received an MLS from Kent State University. David is available to speak on topics related to cataloguing efficiencies, the future of cataloguing, e-book workflows, the WorldCat knowledge base, and WorldShare Metadata services.

 

Anne Horn
Director of Library Services and University Librarian, The University of Sheffield


Anne Horn joined The University of Sheffield as the Director of Library Services and University Librarian in March 2015. Anne moved from Australia to take up the role, where she held the post of University Librarian and Executive Director Academic Support at Deakin University in Victoria. In both posts she has set the strategic vision for the Library, most recently leading the development of the University of Sheffield Library’s new Strategic Plan, Our Library. Our Information Future. Previously, Anne held a senior post at the University of Queensland, and was the Australian Academic Consultant for EBSCO Information Services International. Anne Horn’s research and publications reflect her interests in the assessment of library and learning spaces; digital literacy and libraries influencing student success and retention; collections, informetrics and analytics. Anne has served on various national committees in Australia. She is currently a member of RLUK, SCONUL, the Information School Advisory Panel at the University of Sheffield, and a member of the IATUL Board.

Stuart Hunt
Deputy Director of Library Services, University of Bristol


Stuart leads on content strategy, including content procurement, collections and space management, digital library development, and planning across Library Services at the University of Bristol. Stuart has a background in university libraries and has worked in Russell Group and post-92 institutions. He has given conference papers and published on content strategy, innovation in libraries, and process improvement. His committee memberships include the JISC Collections Management Community Advisory Board and the EBSCO European Academic Advisory Board.
