My account details
To access this page, you need to log in first.
My account > My account details
On this page, you can view your information as it is known to the library. You can also update certain details here. The library determines which data you can change online. If you are unable to change any details, please contact your library for assistance.
Login details
All libraries in the Netherlands use a single national login account. You can only update your username, password, and email address for password recovery at the KB, the national library of the Netherlands.
Click on the "Manage Login Account" button to view or change your login credentials. The changes will apply everywhere you log in, such as your local library or the online library for e-books and audiobooks.
Name and address details
Here you can see your name, address, date of birth, contact information, and IBAN bank account number. For certain changes, you will need to contact the library. You can update your details if you see the "Edit" button.
Change email address
The email address you see here is used by the library to contact you. If you are registered, newsletters will also be sent to this email address. This email address may be different from the email address used for your login account. So, you may have a different email address for your national login account (e.g., for password recovery) than for your local library.
- I update my email address at the KB, national library of the Netherlands (see login details): You change the email address you use to retrieve your username or recover your password. Other messages will still be sent to the email address known to the library.
- I update my email address at the library via "My details": You change the email address the library uses to contact you. Messages for retrieving your username or recovering your password will still be sent to the email address known at the KB, national library of the Netherlands.
- I update my email address at the KB, national library of the Netherlands (see login details) and then also via "My details" at the library: If you enter the same email address in both places, you will receive all messages at the same address.
If you are unable to edit your email address, a library staff member can assist you further.
Membership and preferences
Here you can see your card number, library branch, and membership. You can also see if you have authorized automatic debit. If you see the "Edit" button, you can make changes to your information.
Authorization for direct debit
Authorizing for direct debit means giving the library permission to automatically deduct your membership fee from your bank account. If you see "Authorization given" here, it means you have authorized automatic debit.
If you see "No", most libraries will have a "Authorize" button. By making an online payment of €0.01, you confirm the authorization. This amount will also be added as credit to your card. Click on the "Online payment" button > "Proceed to payment" to confirm the authorization and follow the steps provided by your bank.
If online authorization is not possible at your library, please contact your local library to inquire about how to authorize automatic debit.
Historical overview
With historical overview, you can see the items you have previously checked out: your loan history. Here, you can choose whether you want to display your loan history, hide it, or not track it at all. If your historical overview is enabled, you can view previous check-outs in My account. If your historical overview is hidden, you will not be able to see it. If you select "Do not keep a history", the data will be deleted after 90 days.
Check the box for "Notify at checkout for previously borrowed titles" to receive a notification when you want to check out a title that you have checked out before.
This manual explains how to view and manage your information at the library. Not every library uses the same settings, so some functions may work slightly differently.
