Abstract

OCLC is a global library organization with a growing presence in Arabic-speaking countries, committed to advancing access to information and promoting the discovery of library resources across the Arab speaking countries and beyond. 

This session will provide an introduction to OCLC and its key services for the region, followed by a focused presentation on the Arabic Discovery Catalog (ADC): a dedicated platform built to enhance the visibility of Arabic-language collections and connect library resources within a broader regional and international network. 

Whether you are already familiar with the ADC or exploring it for the first time, this session will give you a clear and practical understanding of what it offers and why it should matter to your library.

Launched in December 2023, the Arabic Discovery Catalog is an OCLC initiative that brings together materials from libraries across Arab countries into a single, searchable platform, built on WorldCat Discovery. Fully optimized for Arabic script, the ADC enhances the visibility of Arabic collections through WorldCat.org and major search engines, making them accessible to researchers and library users worldwide.
